There was a time when I measured my worth by what I achieved, how high I climbed the ladder, and how much money I made. While I was “successful” by society’s standards, I was deeply unfulfilled and unsettled.
Midlife arrived with a seemingly unanswerable question: Is this all there is? I realized that my inner emptiness could not be filled through the old ways of chasing “more,” and I started asking myself bigger questions. My deeply personal search carried me through a series of major life changes, challenges, and some really difficult moments. Through it all, I held on to one truth: I am not here to live a life of quiet dissatisfaction.
This work is grounded in the concept of “sufficiency,” which is not about settling for less than you want; it’s about focusing on what truly aligns with your heart and nourishes your soul. Living sufficiently means living from the inside-out.
Living from sufficiency invites you to shift your attention and energy to what makes your heart and soul come alive, rather than continually chasing society’s external standards of success. This doesn’t mean abandoning your quest for financial freedom; of course money still matters. Living in a sufficient way just means grounding in a sense of internal prosperity first, and enriching your whole life by aligning with your heart and soul.
Soul-level sufficiency is grounded in presence, appreciation, curiosity, exploration, self-discovery, compassion, nature and beauty, and genuine self-expression.
Through the lens of sufficiency, you shift out of auto-pilot.
